"Fresh from the NAMM show this guitar grabbed our attention and we had to bring her home! A different move for Huss & Dalton who are renowned for their impeccable acoustic guitars this takes a classic twist to a legendary style and makes it all their own. The Meridian line is a foray into the world of electrics with a very small quantity of hand built instruments being made available right now. The model here is the very top of the range with a hand carved highly figured heat treated maple top. In fact the incredible figuring visible across the top of the guitar is all down to the AAA grade woods that were used. What a stunner this is and what a treat to know there’ll never be another one quite like this! The Meridian DC has actually been in the developmental stage for the past year and H&D have used this years NAMM show to show the world what it’s all about. With a nod to the single cutaway Statesboro models, H&D built upon the maple carve top using the very finest light weight and super resonant woods to bring the sonic qualities to life. Although based on a classic design the actual build of the guitar has been redesigned from the inside out to provide the ultimate in tone and playability. Designed for comfort too the hand carved body shows attention to detail on the back and sides to ensure the best experience. For function they moving to a two volume, one master tone and a 3-way switch configuration on the lower control panel. Also brand new for NAMM is this premium option of a one piece Honduran Mahogany body. Selected carefully by hand the Honduran is such a premium selected wood it is much lighter than standard Mahogany but doesn’t give up any of the resonance and tone seen with the super heavy classics of old. Final word on tone - H&D turned to non other than Lindy Fralin to provide pickups that are second to none for breadth body and punch across the harmonic spectrum. This Meridian is furnished with Fralin P.A.F. Modern Humbuckers for a slightly higher output pickup. As with every Fralin pickup they have also been further customized with overwound options to satisfy the full breadth of tonal needs. Everything from the top of the peghead on down was refined over multiple prototype builds and small changes until H&D landed on what they think is a beautiful, great sounding, and lightweight comfortable guitar. And when we saw it and played it we had to agree and bring it back for our customers to enjoy."
