"Without demeaning any of the talented musicians that have come out of Austin Texas, 2 famous brothers are best known, Stevie Ray and Jimmy Vaughan. The Fender Custom Shop honors both musician's musical contributions by recreating exact duplicates of their two famous guitars which currently reside in the Texas State History Museum in Austin. Each year, hundreds of thousands of music fans view these guitars, especially Stevie's #1 Strat, because it is so iconically his. Stevie Ray referred to this Strat as his “first wife”, and after his unfortunate passing in 1990, this legendary guitar remained in the possession of his brother Jimmy. The SRV #1 has never been viewable by the public until 2013, when it was entered in the Texas State History Museum alongside Jimmy Vaughan's guitar. These two guitars, side by side, in a glass case, in a museum, represent Texas pride, Austin's rich musical heritage, and two inspiring musical legends.
